Focus of research
- Cellular electrophysiology: pathophysiology of affective disorders, mechanism of action of antidepressants, modulation of synaptic plasticity. Patch-clamp recordings, fluorescence imaging, animal models of depression, behavioural research in rodents
 - Innovative treatment of depression: clinical applications and mechanisms. Non-invasive brain stimulation (rTMS, tDCS, ECT), correlates of synaptic plasticity in humans, ketamine, augmentation of psychotherapy, neuroenhancement
